Duneland Ghost Towns: Tremont Online
One of the most recent ghost towns, Tremont remains in the memories of many area residents. Tremont is an interesting story--it boomed with the opening of the Indiana Dunes State Park and became a bustling tourist town, but it was mostly demolished after the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore was established. Westchester Township History Museum staff explain the rise and fall of this Duneland ghost town.
