Write It Up, Write It Out: Teen Writing Contest

The library is holding its fifth annual writing contest for tweens and teens in grades 5-12. This year we will be judging the entries and therefore are splitting the contest into two categories: grades 5-8 and grades 9-12. Entries will be judged on content, grammar, and creativity. The 1st place winner in each category will win a $100 Amazon gift card.


Qualifying submissions: 

  • On your cover page please include the following: 
    • Full name
    • Grade
    • Best method to contact you upon winning: email or phone number
  • All entries must be emailed to sionna@wpl.lib.in.us or turned in to the Teen Space desk between Nov. 1st and Nov. 30th. 
  • Entries are limited to one per person and must be your original work. 
  • Submissions can be fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. 
  • Entries should be no longer than 5 pages, double-spaced in Times New Roman or Arial font, font size 12.

Any entry not following the above guidelines will be disqualified. 

 

The winners will be contacted by December 15th.
